Those who simply can't give up hiking shouldn't. A little snow is no reason to throw our hiking boots in the corner – quite the opposite! Especially in winter, when the snow covers the expansive meadows, frosty fir forests nestle together in winter caps, the white giants rise in silent majesty above the Allgäu region, and sunbeams make everything sparkle, the Alpine region around Oberstdorf transforms into a true winter wonderland for hikers.
Do you miss the feeling of fresh mountain air tickling your nose? Understandable, because who would willingly forgo the fabulous, snow-covered summit view at 2,000 meters? Thanks to the Nebelhorn, Fellhorn, and Söllereck cable cars, you don't have to, as they take you to the most beautiful alpine winter hiking trails, even on snowy days.
Those who prefer a more moderate experience can hike through deep snow-covered mountain forests or along sunny winter slopes all the way down to Oberstdorf.

Entlang des Schwarzwasserbachs:
Der Schwarzwasserbach ist der „rote Faden“ dieser Winterwanderung von Hirschegg zur Walserschanz. Zum ersten Mal begegnet man ihm an der sagenhaften Naturbrücke, sieht seine Gewalt an einem rauschenden Wasserfall und folgt fast ebenerdig seinem kurvenreichen Lauf bis zum Zusammenfluss mit der Breitach. Gelegentlich verlässt man den Bach, um den Blick auf tief verschneite Hochmoore und Bergrücken zu richten. Das Wasser des Schwarzwasserbachs begleitet einen dann wieder bis zum Eingang zur Breitachklamm direkt unterhalb der Walserschanz. Einkehrmöglichkeiten bei der Hälfte der Wegstrecke am Genussgasthof Sonnenburg und Gasthof Bergblick.
