The ski resorts in Germany's largest ski region, Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal

Here, a welcoming, family atmosphere meets relaxed skiing, combined with the highest concentration of traditional mountain huts and restaurants. Homemade soups and stews are served at the small Schrattenwangalpe, the best Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake) is available at the lovingly furnished Berghaus am Söller, and delicious Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) are served "Mitanond" at the rustic Alpe Oberstdorf.

The Heuberg Arena enchants skiers with its many blue runs that wind through the forests of the Kleinwalsertal valley and its various unique lifts. At the Zaferna lift, the Sonnaalp awaits with giant schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake), and many other delicacies, ready to make your ski break truly special.

From Oberstdorf, the Walmendingerhorn looks like a delicious Toblerone corner, and it's just as delightful. With mostly red runs, it's one of the more challenging areas and offers stunning views of the Hoher Ifen and Baad. Enjoy delicious cake at the Maxhütte on the valley run, Walser specialties at the Gipfelstuba, or something unusual like falafel at the Obere Lüchle Alpe.

The Ifen plateau is unmistakable, visible for miles around. The ski area is equally impressive, offering not only a new 10-person gondola but also a variety of slopes that are second to none. Whether carving on the wide blue run, speeding down the undulating red run, or putting your feet to the test on the black run – every skier will find their perfect match here. And when it comes to where to stop for refreshments, you'll be spoiled for choice. Whether it's the new Tafel&Zunder mountain restaurant with its upscale cuisine, the rustic Ifenhütte at the mid-station, or the Auenhütte in the valley with its refined dishes – prepared outdoors when the weather is fine.

Admittedly, the Nebelhorn sometimes lives up to its name in winter. But just as often, you can enjoy top-notch skiing above the fog. Small but mighty is probably the best way to describe this ski area. It may have the fewest kilometers of slopes, but (almost) every kilometer offers a challenge. The longest valley run in Germany, at 7 km, is marked in black and red – a must for every good skier! A stop at the Gamsnest restaurant at Höfratsblick is a must, and a nap in one of their deck chairs is always welcome.

Fellhorn/Kanzelwand – the largest of the six ski areas awaits you with boundless skiing fun. On the German side, the Fellhorn, you'll find slopes for everyone, catering to all abilities, and for all action fans, the Easypark for snowboarders and freestylers. The Alpe Bierenwang welcomes you with a cozy Alpine atmosphere, typical Allgäu dishes, and a magnificent view.

With its north-facing valley run, the Kanzelwand offers extra-long skiing fun all the way down to the valley floor, and for those cravings, the Adlerhorst restaurant right on the slopes is a hot tip. For anyone who appreciates something special, a stop at the Hammerspitzbar is an absolute must! This cross-border ski area offers something for everyone from morning till night, nipping any hint of boredom in the bud.
