The tour begins at the Söllereckbahn mountain station and leads towards the Sölleralpe/Fellhorn. This hike offers a variety of terrain, from wider paths and narrower trails to steeper climbs through beautiful alpine meadows and fields of rhododendrons. Upon reaching the Fellhorn summit, you'll be rewarded with a stunning view! A wider path with a direct view of the Warmatsgundkopf leads you towards the Kanzelbahn cable car.

From the bus station in Oberstdorf, walk to the Mühlenbrücke (Mill Bridge) at the Nebelhorn valley station and from there into the Trettach Valley. Follow the signs via Gerstruben to the Dietersbachalpe in the Dietersbach Valley. From here, the challenging Alpine Trail winds through gentians and alpine roses, offering breathtaking views towards the head of the valley.
After a break at the Käseralpe, descend into the Oytal Valley, past the Stuibenfall waterfall and on to the Oytalhaus. Tip: Rent an Oytal scooter and enjoy the refreshing breeze.

Walk through the pedestrian zone towards the Schattenberg ski jump and from there up to the Wallraffweg trail. This path leads you at mid-elevation with breathtaking views of Oberstdorf to the Gaisalpe alpine pasture and on to the Gaisalpsee lake. From there, the trail becomes a high-alpine route to the summit of the Rubihorn, requiring sure-footedness and a head for heights. After a relaxing and impressive break at the summit, follow the path along a narrow ridge to the Seealpe station. From there, you can take the cable car back down or hike via the Faltenbach gorge.

Bus line 1 from the hotel towards Kleinwalsertal will take you to the Walmendinger Horn stop. From there, take the cable car to the mountain station (an additional 2.5-hour hike from the cable car station). The trail to the Ochsenhofer Köpfle leads you up and down a ridge path, summit after summit, along the Mutterbergscharte pass through beautiful alpine meadows and pastures. The views towards Baad or Schwarzwassertal are breathtaking. Once you reach the Ochsenhofer Scharte pass, turn left and descend via the Innere Stierhof Alpe alpine pasture and then return to the mountain station via the Obere Lüchle Alpe alpine pasture.

My favorite mountain hikes around Oberstdorf
Durch die Breitachklamm hindurch, wandern Sie in Richtung Hinter der Enge. Von dort aus führt Sie der Wanderweg in Richtung Hörnlepaß über satte Bergwiesen und mit wunderschönem Blick in Richtung Kleinwalsertal. Dem Wegweiser folgend wandern Sie zur Osterberg Alpe auf 1268 m. Der Ausblick ins Rohrmoostal und in Richtung Hoher Ifen lädt zum Verweilen und Genießen ein. Zurück führt der Weg Richtung Sesselweg und Alpe Dornach, von dort zum Parkplatz Breitachklamm. Hier besteht die Möglichkeit, mit dem Bus nach Oberstdorf und von dort mit der Linie 1 zurück ins Hotel zu fahren, oder wie beim Hinweg gemütlich und erfrischend an der Breitach entlang bis zur Hoteltür zu laufen.
