Wandern & Klettern am Nebelhorn bei Oberstdorf im Allgäu
The foghorn
Oberstdorf's local mountain: The Nebelhorn, with its breathtaking 400-peak panorama, is a unique destination in both summer and winter. The mountain can be climbed from the valley or comfortably reached via the Nebelhorn cable car.
Hiking with "multiple views"
1, 2, 3... 55, 56... you can't even keep count! Mountain peaks as far as the eye can see. With its panoramic view of 400 peaks, the Nebelhorn is one of the most scenic mountains in the Allgäu Alps. The Nebelhorn got its name from its appearance when viewed from the upper Iller Valley. In the 18th century, the people of Oberstdorf used the fog-shrouded summit to predict changes in the weather. Since 1930, the Nebelhorn cable car has provided easy access to the panoramic mountain station in three sections, and from there, a 3-minute walk leads to the summit cross at 2,224 meters.

Not for the faint of heart: the North Face Trail!
During your visit to Oberstdorf's local mountain, you simply must experience the North Face Trail, which opened in 2015. This impressive steel structure is not for the faint of heart: the 800-meter drop can make your stomach churn. But once you've overcome your fear and dared to step onto the completely safe platform, a unique view opens up before you, revealing the colorful Iller Valley and the picturesque Allgäu Alps.
Attention! The North Face Trail is even accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers.
