There are many reasons why we love hitting the slopes in the Allgäu mountains in March. Today we'll share our five reasons why you should discover skiing in March for yourself. ;)

1. More sun = longer days

In March, the days get longer and longer, and you automatically get up earlier with the first rays of sunshine. Evenings also stay lighter longer, allowing you to make the most of the day. In mid-January, you can expect no more than 9 hours of sunshine a day. From March onwards, a full 12 hours of sunshine are not uncommon! And of course, you have to take advantage of that. 2. It's getting warmer

Your thoughts are consumed with getting back on the slopes as quickly as possible so you can get moving. In March, temperatures rise in the ski resorts, and pleasant sunshine replaces the cold winds. But remember that your skin needs extra sun protection, especially during this month!

3. Yes, there is enough snow.

A solid foundation for skiing in the Allgäu region was laid during the winter months, and this extends well into spring. Heavy snowfall is common here again at the end of February and beginning of March, ensuring that skiing in March doesn't suffer any loss of quality. Skiing is a form of interval training and demands both endurance and strength. It helps lower blood pressure and also supports your cardiovascular system. So it's the perfect preparation for the hiking season! ;-) When spring arrives, you can kick off the season with a longer hike and don't have to start with small hills. ;)
