Our year-round forest floor

At Hotel Oberstdorf, we celebrate all the seasons. We simply couldn't decide on our floor decorations – after all, each season is a highlight in its own right. So, in a way, we brought them all together in the hotel.

Normally, every construction site has its challenges. Ours, however, gifted us with its own spring! To allow you to experience the fresh spring water firsthand, we've come up with two very special highlights.

Our own spring rises directly beneath the Hotel Oberstdorf at a depth of just 9 meters. Since its discovery in 2012, we have been making this fresh, clear mountain spring water accessible to you:

In addition to our natural swimming pond, you can enjoy the spring water in the Kneipp pool – a wonderful refreshment after your hike!

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a true Allgäu original right outside the hotel entrance: our 8-ton spring stone, a local landmark formed over millions of years from countless rock fragments.

Today, it's filled with our own spring water, which gently babbles along, creating a special first moment of arrival.

Our beloved Allgäu region is reflected in many small details. It appears in a somewhat more subtle way in our feel-good emblem.

Allgäu hats

The large hats above the reception desks do more than just shine. They also tell a story about the Allgäu hat tradition. In the past, hardly anyone left home without a hat, so we had a stable boy's hat made for everyday wear and two dress hats to "protect our receptionists." With this Allgäu tradition hanging above their heads, they can offer the best tips for all kinds of excursions in the surrounding area.

The story of the thick beams

Even the tables at reception have quite a history – and that doesn't just refer to the weight of the thick wooden beams. These beams once belonged to an old barn and were specially prepared for the reception area. The carved markings ensured that each beam was placed in its correct position during construction. Thus, every piece of wood ultimately found its place, and the barn provided a secure shelter.
